Generosity - The first point
Generosity is a seed of virtue. There are ways to cultivate this seed; this virtue.
Here are a few tips.
Every morning when you wake up offer your life to awareness, to the truth and to communion
- give up your puny view and your know-it-all view
- answer questions; let others know what you are up to
- accept invitations to be a guest
- don't refuse gifts
- share what you know; offer what you have to offer

Poppies were everywhere in Italy when we were there a year ago. Many by the sides of the rail road tracks. And then there is story that poppies always grow well on a battle field where the hard dry ground has been broken by bombardment. In a Polish song commemorating the battle of Monte Cassino, it says that every poppy represents the blood of a fallen Polish soldier.
But I agree with you Maryanne. They seem to ask that we enjoy there beauty.
